For many trans and non-binary people, permanent hair removal is not cosmetic — it’s gender-affirming care. But electrolysis and laser hair removal can be prohibitively expensive, putting them out of reach for folks who need them most.
That’s where Point of Pride’s Electrolysis Support Fund comes in.
What Is the Electrolysis Support Fund?
The Electrolysis Support Fund provides financial assistance to help trans people access permanent hair removal services, including:
- Electrolysis
- Laser hair removal
This fund is designed specifically for trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse people who cannot otherwise afford these services. The goal is simple but powerful: reduce financial barriers to care that supports safety, comfort, and self-expression.
Hair removal can be a critical step for:
- Gender affirmation and dysphoria relief
- Accessing other medical care (such as surgeries that require hair removal)
- Feeling safer and more confident in daily life
Who Can Apply for gender-affirming hair removal?
The fund is open to trans and non-binary individuals who demonstrate financial need and are seeking permanent hair removal as part of their gender-affirming care. You do not need to be pursuing surgery to apply.
Point of Pride prioritizes applicants who face systemic barriers, including:
- Low or no income
- Lack of insurance coverage
- Limited access to affirming healthcare
Important Deadline: Apply by the End of February
Applications are open now through the end of February, so if this support could make a difference for you (or someone you love), now is the time to apply.
